Bullguard Review – Is it Worth the Price?

Bullguard is a complete security suite. It’s not as robust as the other options but it’s a great solution for those looking to get a little more from their antivirus software. It’s also efficient with resources and avoids heavy load on the system while offering a variety of options to ease it whenever needed.

The program opens to a modular hub application which has a tiled layout for its various modules, including firewall, antivirus, PC tune up, game booster and home network scanner. The “Vulnerabilities section will alert you to things such as missing Windows updates autostart service, open ports. Gamers will find the “Game Booster” feature helpful, since it will know when you’re playing, and will automatically optimize your system.

In our tests, the bullguard was pretty effective in protecting against malware, and was quite low on system resources compared to most competing products in terms of CPU use. However we did notice the background processes of the antivirus ate up a fair amount of RAM, especially when the system has limited memory. When viewing a high-resolution monitor the hub app looked as if it was pixelated.

Bullguard comes with a mobile security feature with its Premium Protection subscription which includes antitheft, parental control and basic backup support for your tablet or smartphone. Despite this, the app isn’t a lot and doesn’t include some essential features like webcam protection or file shredders. The only way to get support via phone is via live chat or email.
